Welcome to HOME Project
THE PROJECT:
- This is a federally funded project that is a collaboration between the Ohio State University and Nationwide Children’s Hospital.
- Our goal is to connect participants with community partners so that they can obtain and maintain housing.
- Throughout the project, we will provide surveys to participants to measure the impact that these partnerships on the youth.
- Ultimately, we expect to deliver an intervention package that can be adopted in a multitude of settings.
RATIONALE
- This project was developed because there are 2.5 million youth who have difficulty in finding sustainable housing.
- Not having sustainable housing is a source of chronic stress that can negatively impact mental health and other facets of people’s lives.
- We hope that information and findings from our work can help inform other intervention efforts to be successfully implemented in other areas.
COMMUNITY PARTNERS & THE STUDY
- We make extensive efforts to ensure that tenants and landlords are good matches for one another, and ensure strong mutually beneficial relationships.
- We collaborate with the youth to connect them with additional supportive services to help them obtain their goals, such as finding employment.
